Aquaculture

Aquaculture is becoming more prevalent which has many benefits for marine life. Aquaculture is the farming of marine animals and plants. Marine aquaculture contributes to seafood supply and decreases the need for mass fishing.

This practice enhances wild fish, shellfish, and plants that we can harvest. It also restores threatened marine life. Aquaculture is currently estimated to account for 50% of all seafood produced for human consumption. Aquaculture will add to wild seafood, and allow it to be more accessible.
